Participants must qualify for Virginia Medicaid or an approved insurance plan and exhibit specific difficulties on a continuing or intermittent basis. Additionally, at least one parent whom the child is living with must be willing to participate with Intensive In-Home Services, with the primary goal of keeping the child with the family.
Qualified counselors work with clients ages 6-21 with significant emotional or behavioral distress and their families to establish a stable, healthy home environment. Counselors provide intense therapeutic counseling and case management services to attain individualized goals. Each counselor is required to spend a minimum of six hours per week with each family to achieve these goals.
Research has shown music to be a healthy and creative outlet for expression. We believe music is an exciting and innovative component in addressing the needs of our clients. We utilize this proven method to improve youth abilities to express themselves
and cope with hardships.
Once clients have stabilized risky behaviors, our trained staff incorporates various aspects of music (production, composition, writing etc.) to the family's treatment, while parents learn the benefits of integrating music into daily living.
Clients are given an opportunity to engage in healthy activities to express themselves while learning alternatives for improvement.
